What's up, Without The Effers? Sorry it's been so long since we last updated, we've been super busy doing boring stuff, which gives us about zero ammunition to drop on this beautiful blog. A quick summary? We are working on some new music, a website, a photoshoot, a logo, some mascots, a story, manicures, a really cool live show, and Burns' incontinence. All is going really well except for the last one - I don't think he can be cured.
We played a few shows at the Viper Room, back to back weeks. I just wanna drop a huge thanks to those guys, Roli, Gord, all the girls who work there and look pretty awesome and also serve well too, and especially everyone who came out! The shows were killer, sound was deadly, audience participation was outstanding, and I didn't get athlete's foot! A success!
We've got another show coming up August 12 at the Ironwood, it's a benefit for a good cause. I'll put the details in our tour section. You should definitely come out and support awesomeness, as well as the music.
I think that's all for now. Look for our new website to be up by the end of August, and some shows in large quantity around the same time. If you want to see Adrian nekkid, look for that too. He really likes to lose his shirt.
As always, you guys ROCK! Thanks for all the support, we love you and couldn't do any of this without you (or ourselves), so huge gratitude to you and us! WTF OUT!!!!

Friday The 13th
We've got another show...TONIGHT! We know, it's really short notice. It came as a surprise to us, too. We've been in contact with a few promoters and venues and one of them contacted us two days ago. They're putting on a Friday the 13th show and it should be siiiiick!! You can follow this link to check out The New Black Centre or more details on our Facebook page .
Just to keep ya'll in the loop, the band has started to practice extra hours and we're making plans for studio recording and a lot more shows. We're still looking for some logo ideas, so keep that in mind.
Thanks to all for your on going support!

And then there were...still four. But different jobs. And hopefully soon five.
Okay, we had a jam last night, just the guitars. Adrian, Blake, Burns (Christine was there for managerial duty and moral napping). it was
AWESOME.
Burns is gonna be our new lead guitarist in six months, when I get demoted to rhythm (if I'm still allowed to be in this band by then).
Anyway, Burns shreds, and has amazing ideas for harmonies and rhythms and whatever, we came up with some sick stuff, and the old stuff sounds way better. Adrian can make the bass play bass stuff now, and it won't sound empty while there's lead playing. So I am effing juiced out of my mind. This, combined with our (hopefully) new drummer may be exactly what we need to gain another few levels, and become professional musicians.
Anyway, I have to go to bed, but I don't think I'll sleep because this is too RAD.

Warriors
BATTLE OF THE BANDS. TOMORROW NIGHT.
This will be the third show we've played in under a month that is associated with a battle of the bands competition. (p.s... the title of this post would be my attempt at humor. get it? battle? warriors?... I've been watching too much Xena) This particular battle will be held in the south. 30 Everstone Blvd SW, to be exact. Attend or be all sides equal. Man, I'm on a roll today.
Currently, we've been looking into getting a new drummer so that Burns can pick up a guitar. We've wanted to add another guitar and since the guys know this guy who was a guy from high school that would fit in well with us guy's, we have done our best to recruit said guy. Guy plays drums. *Guy = Bryan Rumsey* Hopefully we'll have him up to speed and playing soon. We're pretty excited to have him on board.
We've still been having acoustic jams to write more music. So, stay tuned. We've got some siiiickk stuff coming your way :)

The Epic Battle
Whoa. Where to begin?
The band has been crazy busy lately! As you may already know, Without The Fall competed in a battle of the bands competion put on by the U of C's "Gig Club". The preliminary night was this past Wednesday and the finals took place on Saturday night. Both shows were held at the Marquee Room in the Uptown theatre. The venue was pretty sick and the sound made it even better.
The band put a lot of time and effort into practicing before the show. Between crazy school schedules, work, and attempts to maintain social lives, the band was fitting in as many practices as possible....
Hmmm??? Wait a second......
That's it Paige! From the diaphragm! Perfect posture!
Wednesday night's show was killer! Spiderman's Calvary started off the night with an awesome set and Bear Fight followed with an insanely, high energy, performance. The two bands did an amazing job of getting the crowd pumped up to here Without The Fall. As part of the show, we had two volunteers approach the stage, eagar to win some prizes. Each contestant was given a can of SPAM and the object was to see who could eat the most spam before the song ended. To make a processed meat story as short as possible, let's just say the whole place stunk like a SPAMtastic night! Both contenders won demo CD's, t-shirts, and....SPAM :) Dangerman, then swooped in to finish the night with a bang! All in all, an awesome night!!
Saturday night was also amazing. Columbian Necktie got the night going with a mind blowing, death metal, set. Spiderman's Calvary kept the fun times and energy going and Sidewalker's followed with some awesome music! Without The Fall finished the night with a high energy, grin bearing, toe tapping, booty shaking, fist pumping, lip smacking, roof on fire, performance. Also, there was pickle juice involved. Instead of spam, there was two giant jars of pickle juice. Two guys volunteered for this great challenge but wimped out at the moment of truth. Instead, they sent up two girls in there place. It was AWESOME!! These two girls downed these jars of pickle juice. Garlic chunks and all!
Sidewalker's were the victors of the night. However, we did not leave empty handed. These shows were a great opportunity for us to have our music heard and get it tighter than ever. We also made some great contacts and met some amazing people!
Coming up, Without The Fall is participating in another battle of the bands. It will be on March 4th, 30 Everstone Blvd SW, at 7:00pm. SO, BE THERE!!! :)
Thanks for all the support and to anyone who came out last week!!
p.s...
Blake went to a show in Boise, Idaho. Maybe if we're lucky, he'll share with us his experiance and the epiphanys he had.

Slowly But Surely
Hey guys, it's been a while
We've been hard at work. We took some time off over the holidays, and it hurt. Our first practice as a full band was BRUTAL. We all forgot how our songs went. A couple hours solved everything, but we've definitely realized the value of consistent practice.
As of right now, we have eight songs complete! We've been writing a LOT, and we're getting excited about the new stuff. We've decided to take a little twist; we're blending old fifties 'lounge' type jazz with our typical poppy rockmetal. It's really interesting, but we freakin love it, and think you will too.
Hopefully.
Adrian confessed his undying love for me the other day. Makes it a little awkward, because we work together and work out together (brings a whole new meaning to all those 'good-games' he keeps giving me), but I think I can handle it. Although the tour this summer will have us living in a van...tight quarters...
Paige is super bust with school, so finding time to jam is tough, but we're still getting two or three shots in a week, which is pretty productive. Two acoustic jams (that's where the writing happens), and one full band to finalize and solidify everything we've written. It's going really well.
We need a new drummer! We kicked burns out for being too hairy (if you've seen burns sans shirt, you'll understand completely). Actually, we didn't. But we need two guitars, and Burns wants to pick it up. He's been playing for years, so the transition from acoustic to rhythm electric should be easy. But with Boonie as axeman, we'll need someone to pick up his percooshion. Do you know anyone? Adrian and I have a buddy - Bryan Rumsey - who we thought would be a good fit. Also, Andrew Palmer was a name that came up. Anybody out there have any suggestions? We obviously want someone who's pretty decent at the instrument - technically sound, you could say. As long as they can keep a beat and use two kick pedals at the same time, we're good. What we're really concerned about is personality. Most importantly, we want someone who we'll get along with, who will on the same musical page as us, and who isn't super annoying. Do you know someone like that? Washboard abs is a plus. And a nice smile. Anyway, if you have any ideas, let us know! Shoot us an email (withoutthefall@gmail.com), send the group a message on FB, send any of us an email, or leave a reply in the comments below (I think we have comments set up...do we?).
Okay, this has been a LONG post, but I'm almost done. Two more things
1) We have a new song on the myspace! Myspace.com/withoutthefall Check that crap out, the new one is one of our harder songs, it's a kind of a murder mystery love story. One of our favorite songs we have, actually. It's kind of long, but TOTALLY worth it. Swing over and give it a listen.
2) We have a show! U of C Gig Club (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=31930893364) is hosting a battle of the bands , to which we have been invited! We'll be playing February 16th at 8:00 PM at the Marquee Room (http://www.theuptown.com/). This is a pretty big event, there will eight bands paying over two nights, then the finalists duke it out head-to-head in an octagon cage-match of musical annihilation. Winner plays bermuda shorts day and gets some radio time or something like that. It's gonna be a serious deal, so MAKE SURE YOU CHECK IT OUT! We're debuting some new material that will blow your faces off.
Alright, I think that about does it for the longest post of the year. In summary:
1) FIND US A DRUMMER!
2) LISTEN TO THE NEW MUSIC (www.myspace.com/withoutthefall)!
3) COME TO THE BOTB FEB 16!
4) Keep on rockin', chowders.

IT"S TOO LOUD!!
Well fellow followers, here's an update as to what's been going on lately, and pictures to help you feel like you were really there....
Ok, so this is Paige. Not the ghost of Christmas past. We were trying to figure out how to do vocal recording without other sound interference. Just incase you were wondering, this didn't work. Paige could barely breathe.
One night, we went up into the dusty rafters of the studio and practised for
the New Black Centre gig.
Remember that polka-dotted blanket that we set up for Paige to stare at?! Oh, also Blake got some new glasses. Classy, eh?
Burns, hard at work.
This table was un petite dusty.
Blake, enjoying the accomplished table dusting.
I don't know what to say... Things get a little crazy... :)
Family picture. How precious.
As you can see, we've been having alot of fun! But along with all this fun, there's been alot of hard work. Blake recently moved and has set up a jam space in his basement. The band (minus Burns due to business) got together Saturday to write. It was relatively successful. Morning jams can be quiet slow when everyone is still trying to wake up.
We also completed recording some vocals last week for some more songs that we're stoked to show everyone. If you loved our first two demos, ba-ba-ba-ba-baby you just ain't seen na-na-nothing yet! These new songs are sure to hit your fancy bone.... Fancy bone? Where is ones fancy bone located?
Hope you're all having a killer new year! Stickin' to those resolutions... enjoying the weather... and all that jazz...

Happy New Year
Greetings children
The new year is upon us. Having finally recovered from a food coma/hangover, we're ready to get things rolling! This year has some big things in store for the band:
For those of you who have heard the songs we've made for our demo, don't get too comfortable yet; we have two more on the way. We're hitting the studio tomorrow (Wednesday the 5th) night to finish the vocal tracks on "Clover" and "Earthquake." A couple hours of mixing and mastering later, and we'll have two new tracks up on myspace for you. For everyone who hasn't heard the demo yet...
http://www.myspace.com/withoutthefall
secondly, with this demo out of the way, we'll have two things on our minds: writing, and shows.
We'll be spending as much time as possible writing new material to melt your faces and blow your ear drums. We've all been practicing, and an immediate increase in skill has been noticed. We've been listening to a lot of new music too, so be ready to hear some stuff that is a little different than what you're used to. Don't worry, everything will have that WTF flare.
There are two battle of the bands coming up for us, one in Feb and one in March, so be on the lookout for those, they should be deadly. Also, now that we have sone tangible (hearable?) songs, we're gonna start shooting demos off to every venue we can think of (if you know of any venues we should play at, or have any connections, let us know! withoutthefall@gmail.com). Our goal is to be playing a show every weekend somewhere in mid-southern alberta, and then take at least a couple weeks to tour Canada this coming summer. We're freakin excited
Anyway, that's the update for now. Thanks so much for all the support, everything you guys have done; we wouldn't be here without you. Feel free to comment and make fun of us, or ship us an email anytime
